Jason Frieri - Sophomore Head Coach

Coach Frieri played high school football for Lincoln-Way Central, graduating in 2003. Coach Frieri graduated from Illinois State University and teaches health at LTHS. Coach Frieri has 5 years of experience coaching high school football, the past two seasons at LTHS. Coach Frieri also coaches girl’s track and field in the spring.

Erik Carlson - Sophomore Defensive Backs Coach

Coach Carlson played football at Batavia High School. He was a varsity starting linebacker for three years and led the team in tackles his senior year. On offense, he was the starting center on the offensive line, played on special teams and was the starting long snapper. During his senior year he was named captain of the football team and was named All-Conference and All-Area at linebacker. After high school, he went on to play linebacker at Carthage College. Coach Carlson teaches at Ludwig School in Lockport and has been coaching at LTHS for the past 3 seasons.

Kevin Bolling - Sophomore Offensive Coordinator

Coach Bolling played football for the Jacksonville High School Crimsons in Jacksonville, Illinois. He was a team captain his senior year and started at tailback and free safety, graduating in 1982. Coach Bolling played four years of Division III college football for the Illinois College Blueboys, where he played running back for one year and cornerback for three years, earning “Back-of-the-Week” honors against Coe College his senior year, graduating in 1986. Coach Bolling has played for and coached under three Illinois High School Hall-of-Fame football coaches.

Over the years, he earned an MBA from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) and an MA in Educational Administration from Governors State University. Coach Bolling teaches in the English department at LTHS and is a veteran member of the coaching staff, with over 25 years of experience coaching high school football. Coach Bolling was part of the LTHS coaching staff in 2002 and 2003 for the back to back state championships. Coach Bolling resides in Homewood with his wife of almost 17 years, Margy, and their three daughters, Megan (15), Ella (12) and Lucy (9).

Jim Fox - Sophomore Tight Ends Coach

Coach Fox played high school football at Lockport Township High School and was a part of the 2002 and 2003 IHSA Class 8A State Championship teams. Coach Fox received his Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Lewis University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership (Type 75) from Olivet Nazarene University. Coach Fox teaches Special Education at Oak Prairie Junior High and is a Track and Field coach for the school. Coach Fox has coached football at LTHS for 5 seasons.

Ron Kulwinski - Sophomore Defensive Line Coach

Coach Kulwinski attended St. Rita High School and played football, baseball and hockey. He was an all-conference player and all-area player while leading the area in hitting. Coach Kulwinski attended Lewis University on a full baseball scholarship. After graduating from Lewis University, Coach K. began his coaching career at Kelvin Grove School in Lockport. Over his career, Coach Kulwinski has coached football, basketball and baseball, compiling a record of 1,123 wins in basketball with a 48 game winning streak over the course of 5 years in baseball, along with many conference championships. Coach Kulwinski was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2006. Coach Kulwinski has coached baseball at LTHS and Joliet Junior College where he was a part of two national championships. Coach Kulwinski was part of the LTHS coaching staff in 2002 and 2003 for the back to back state championships.

Andrew Zurales - Sophomore Offensive Line Coach

Coach Zurales graduated from Lincoln-Way Central in 2006. He was selected to the All Southwest Suburban conference team as an offensive lineman during his senior year. He also earned the program's Effort Player of the Year award in both his junior and senior seasons. He went to the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois where he played football and baseball and was a team captain in both sports. He began his coaching career at Lincoln-Way West High School, where he served as a lower level assistant for two years. He then coached the next four seasons at Manteno High School, serving as the varsity offensive & defensive line coach the last two years. During his time as varsity assistant coach, MHS won two conference titles, set school records in wins and rushing yards, and appeared in the quarterfinals in 2014. He also has coached baseball the past 6 years, including head coach for one year at Manteno High School during the spring of 2016. Coach Zurales recently earned his Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from the University of St. Francis and enters his 1st year at LTHS, teaching in the Social Studies department.
